Lovette Coston has spent most of her career as a Human Resources Operations and Systems Leader equipping her diverse teams to transform into high performing transformational organizations. Lovette has always embraced challenges. She has continuously sought new opportunities that accentuate her strengths and accelerate her storied career path enabling her career advancement with new levels of leadership as well as increased geographical location responsibilities.

Prior to moving her focus to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Lovette most recently was a Global HRIT Director at Roche, leading employees in five countries across six geographic locations that partnered with Global Servicing Organizations to improve technology solutions supporting people related processes around the globe. In addition, she and her family of five lived nine years in Basel, Switzerland where the company is headquartered. That life abroad gave her a huge appreciation for Diversity and Inclusion (D&I).

Upon returning to Indianapolis, Lovette immersed herself in D&I initiatives where she was instrumental in developing a team which brought international colleagues together for monthly round-tables where key related topics are discussed. In 2018, Lovette was the recipient of a D&I award presented for her leadership in helping to bring transparency to substantial changes needed in the area of hiring practices and behaviors. These critical changes were subsequently implemented at Roche in Indianapolis.

Having often been the only female, only African American or both, Lovette is passionate about encouraging young women and minorities in their consideration of technical fields as they ponder career pursuits. Having led several high performing diverse teams, she is also passionate about the power of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Lovette volunteers as a Big Sister with Big Brother Big Sisters of Central Indiana. She also volunteers at Rophe Free Clinic located at Solid Word Bible Church both as the secretary of the board and as a front office leader. She has used her process improvement skills to bring process changes even in her volunteer roles.

Lovette strongly believes that even if there are no others like you in the room - be the first!
